Harp The Herald Angels Sing!

Christmas Carols for the 10 hole diatonic harmonica

In thanks to everyone who has tuned in to The Toot Suite this year, we would like to share some seasonal music with you. Grab your harps (and a friend with a harp) and let’s look at Silent Night, Jingle Bells and Angels From The Realms Of Glory.

Silent Night

This is in two parts. The first part is the main melody, the second is a harmony arranged by Lord Tootwell, founder of The Toot Suite. Both harps should be in the same harp key. Our sample clips are played on a C major 10 hole harp, but you can use your favourite key.

First Part

Jingle Bells

This is also in two parts, but without harmonies. The first part is the chorus, the second is the verse. For the chorus, other harmonica music starts on 8B.

Ours starts an octave lower on 5B as this is less shrill than 8B (and there are no difficult bend notes). Our sample clips are played on a 10 hole C major harp, but again feel free to use your favourite key.

Angels From The Realms Of Glory

Our final offering once again comes in two parts. Both are melodies in their own right, but they sit very nicely when played together. To differentiate, we’ve called the first part our UK Melody as it will be more familiar with our British tooters.

The second part we are calling our US Melody as it will be more familiar to all our Christmas friends across the pond. Both parts should be played in the same harp key. Our sample clips are played on a 10 hole C major harp, but feel free to use your favourite key.
